Somaliland Biodiversity Foundation
The Somaliland Biodiversity Foundation works to build conservation resources and educational opportunities across Somaliland, and operates the Somaliland Biodiversity Museum at the University of Hargeisa.
University of Hargeisa
The university is located in Hargeisa and is one of the largest universities in Somaliland. It offers students courses in environmental science and conservation.

Candlelight for Environment, Education, and Health
Candlelight is one of Somaliland’s oldest and most well respected NGOs. It has completed numerous conservation and restoration projects, operates schools and educational programs, and has led the fight against female genital mutilation.

Sanaag University is located in Erigavo and provides courses and degrees in ecology and natural resource management to students in the Cal Madow area.
Hargeysa Cultural Centre
The Hargeysa Cultural Centre, located in Hargeisa, is one of Somaliland’s premier research institutions. It is dedicated to investigating and documenting the rich cultural heritage of Somaliland.
